How to Become a warranted Marshal
First off, you have to be a current member, familiar with the rules associated with the discipline for which you are seeking a warrant, and authorized to participate in the discipline in question. (Exceptions on a case by case basis may be made if you are not authorized).
Next, you need to notify the discipline deputy marshal that you are interested in becoming a marshal. Filling out this form can accomplish this easily as well as getting your information into the roster. You also need to find a sponsor for your apprenticeship. If you need assistance finding a sponsor, contact the appropriate discipline deputy.
You will also need to take the applicable class(es) for the discipline in question. There is a class for each discipline and the combat-related disciplines also include the Field Marshaling 201 class.
Then, the apprentice marshal needs to train as a marshal at at least 4 events. Of those 4, two have to be outside the apprentice's local group, and one has to be outside the region. The Northern region is groups north of Isenfir/Caer Mear. The central region includes Black Diamond, Isenfir, Caer Mear, Tir-y-don and Marinus. The South Region includes the groups in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. For combat disciplines, at least one of the events needs to include melee combat.
